Unable to Record Local Pages
Phenomenon
If you open a local .html webpage in your browser and then try to record the page using the HTML to Figma browser extension, the extension will prompt: Permission is required to record local pages
. This is because the browser extension needs to read the content of this local webpage in this situation, but by default, it doesn’t have this permission. You need to enable it manually.
Solution
Choose one of the two methods:
Method 1: Grant the browser extension “Allow access to file URLs” permission.
The specific steps are as follows (using Chrome browser as an example):
- Right-click on the “HTML to Figma” extension icon in the address bar, then click “Manage extensions” in the context menu.
- On the extension’s details page, find and enable the “Allow access to file URLs” option.
After enabling it, refresh your local .html page, and you should be able to use the extension to record normally.
Method 2
Directly use the Import .html file
feature of the HTML to Figma extension. Learn more here
